Do you ever just get stuck in a creative rut? You're in desperate need to create something but somehow you have lost every ounce of creativity that lives inside of you. Don't worry though, it's still in there, you just got to do a little digging.

Below are a list of 5 ways you can get rid of your awful artist block so you can get back to do what you love most.

1. Just paint. This may sound a bit crazy since you currently have no clue what to create, but that's ok. You don't have to have some genise idea or even a spark of inspiration. Just grab your paint supplies and start playing around with different colors and shapes.

Imagine your kid again. You didn't have some big idea when you decided to paint. You simply chose a pretty color and had some fun.

Just keep doing this as much as possible and eventually it will all start coming back to you.

2. Take a break from all the craziness and stress that is surrounding you and go for a nice long walk or drive. Surrounding yourself with things that sets your mind at ease, where you can relax, and become inspired. Whether that's a walk in the park, a trip to the beach, driving out in the country, or even visiting your favorite museums.

3. Declutter your space. You may think it has nothing to do with your creative thinking, but when your space is full of clutter it can sometimes feel as if your mind is cluttered too. Cleaning up and clearing out unnecessary things in your studio will not only make your area more inviting but also help clear your mind.

4. Study art that you love from other artist that inspires you. Pinterest and Instagram is a great place to find some inspiration along with some motivation. Study the art that catches your eye. What is it that you love about it? What would you of done differently? This is a great way to spark some creative ideas.

5. Step out of your comfort zone. Sometimes what's holding you back isn't the lost of creativity but the fear of trying something new. Maybe your focus is landscapes but lately you have really been wanting to try something more abstract. It can seem like a pretty big leap, and what if you mess up? Well, the great thing about painting is you can never truly mess up because you can always just paint over it and try again.Your never going to get out of a creative rut if your to afraid to try something new. Look at it as a learning experience and embrace it.
